Luxury watch consignment

Consignment is retail exposure without taking a bid on the spot. It fits when you believe the watch will achieve a higher net on a longer timeline, when condition and documentation support that ask, and when you do not need immediate liquidity. Rennwrist consigns watches we can underwrite: significant references in the $25k–$500k band where comps are visible and buyers transact through us as the seller.

This is not an open listing service. We do not publish consigned inventory alongside dealer-posted stock or run auctions between strangers. Every consigned watch is sold by Rennwrist to our client base.

When consignment beats a direct sale

Consign when the spread between a wholesale bid and a realistic retail ask is wide enough to cover time and carry, and when your reference has recent sales that support the higher number. Sell outright when you need liquidity, when comps have softened, or when the bid you receive reflects where the market actually clears.

We will tell you which path fits before you ship anything. Consignment is an option, not something we push on every submission.

How Rennwrist consignment works

You submit photos, reference details, and your target timing. We verify condition, confirm kit, and agree on a consignment structure: ask level, timeline, and how we present the watch to buyers. The watch is held and insured on our terms while listed to qualified clients.

When it sells, you receive payout per the agreed schedule. If the market moves against the ask, we reprice or return the watch rather than letting it sit as stale inventory.

What we consign

Watches where we can verify authenticity quickly, where comps exist in the last ninety days, and where we have buyer depth through our network. Sport models from Rolex, Patek Philippe, and Audemars Piguet are common; selected independents and vintage references when documentation is strong.

We decline consignment when the reference is illiquid, condition is uncertain, or the ask has no anchor in verified sales.

Frequently asked questions

How is consignment different from selling to Rennwrist directly?
Direct sale pays on agreed terms once we buy the watch. Consignment pays when we sell it to a client, usually at a higher gross with a longer timeline.
Who holds the watch during consignment?
Rennwrist holds and insures the watch while it is listed. Terms are confirmed before you ship.
Can I consign a watch and buy another through Rennwrist?
Yes, when both legs fit our criteria. We can structure trade and consign combinations so you are not managing two separate channels.
